Being 5th place and having a 2-3 record this year, Wyandotte Varsity Football is seeking a win for the homecoming game against Woodhaven.
“[We will have to] Come out and compete… Play physical and play fast,” senior captain Donavan Canterberry said.
The team has previously struggled with losses this year but most significantly against Carlson with a loss of 42-7, with junior Nathanael Gonzalez scoring the touchdown.
“I can say my performance is pretty good… [I’m going to] make sure my performance is top chart it is either win or go home at this point,” Gonzalez said.
Sophomore Chase Cline is the leading receiver with 15 catches for 147 yards while senior Ethan Breaux has 11 catches for 176 yards
“I’m doing pretty good, way better than last year… [to] prepare for the next games. I feel like we got to lock in practice, and just be ready because we still have Woodhaven and Trenton, two of the stronger teams in our league,” Breaux said.
The team has four games remaining to try to qualify for districts.
