Girls varsity golf is wrapping up their season this week.
The team has been practicing at Riverview Highlands all season where their biggest rivals Allen Park and Carlson also practice.
“We practice at the same course. their team is bigger, and they just had more experience overall, but I think we can catch up eventually,” Miah Dmytrusz said.
Last week on September 29 the girls golf team had their last match, the post league tournament.
The tournament was 18 holes and they ended up placing 5th out of 7 teams. Their final score was 484.
Sophomore Mikayla Calhoun qualified for all league by finishing twelfth at that match.
“It’s definitely an experience meeting new people and getting to learn the game. I was honored to come 12th in all league and get a medal for my varsity jacket,” Calhoun said.
They have their regional match on Tuesday, October 5th at Lincoln Park where seniors Harrison and Martinez are competing as well as junior Calhoun.
“I hope I can do better than what I did last year. I hope the team does well too,” Harrison said.
Regionals will wrap up the season.
