Recently, the cross country team has attended both the Huron Invitational and the Downriver League Jamboree. They have been successful at both meets.
“Our team is so talented this year and it’s also nice to see how close we all are as a team,” Cost said.
Junior Sam Cost and Senior Aubrey Migoski have continued to lead the girl’s team this year with Cost placing third and Migoski placing fifth at the Huron invitational.
“I give a lot of credit to Aubrey because she pushes me to run my best and without her I probably wouldn’t do as well as I do,” Cost said.
The boy’s team has also had a successful season and has been led in success by Junior Michael Makuch and Senior Sam Rankine.
“This is the first time we are ranked first and second in the league,” Rankine said. “I’m number one and Michael is number two.”
At the Downriver League Jamboree, Makuch placed second with Rankine placing fifth, and Rankine was able to place first at the first league meet.
“I’ve been running on this team since freshman year, so it’s good to be at the top of the league after all this time,” Rankine said.
Both the girls and boys will run again at Willow Metropark on October 9th at the Wayne County Cross Country Championship.
