Tennis earned a regional and league championship this past week with a dominant performance by many on the team.
The team competed at Trenton last Wednesday. They dominated the Trojans, sweeping them 8-0. Senior Alex Moon and junior Cole Beaubien won doubles, winning 6-0, 6-2. Senior Hudson Hill also won his match at Trenton, winning 6-1, 6-2.
“My favorite thing about tennis,” Moon said, “is definitely bonding after all of our tournaments and matches.”
They have their Honor and Glory tournament coming up, which is at Trenton. This is an eight team tournament. Then the following Monday they have their league championship tournament. Following that on Tuesday they play Carlson, probably for the league title.
“My sophomore year I had nothing going on after I transferred,” Moon said, “Coach Butler on JV told me to grab a racket and start playing.”
Regionals for tennis is on the following Thursday after the Carlson game. The team has been playing very well so far.
The team has had a strong season so far and are hoping to win regionals and league title.
“We don’t lose,” Moon said.
