Prom was held at the Roostertail and Ruben and Alana were crowded king and queen

After the prom was canceled in 2020 because of COVID and held outside on the football field in 2021, it has finally made a normal return in 2022.
“Prom went great,” senior class president Nina Steffin said. “I didn’t hear about any problems, tickets were smooth, decorations were smooth, setting up and take down, everything went really great.”
The 2022 prom was held at The Roostertail in Detroit.
“The location was awesome and provided for some new opportunities for our class,” Steffin said. “We were able to have a picture spot at Belle Isle that a lot of people showed up to.”
The theme of prom was Enchanted Forest.
“For the theme we went a little more rustic, we went with lots of greens and neutrals,” Class of 2022 class sponsor said.
Steffin also agrees that the theme worked well and helped with the success of the dance.
“I think the theme worked out really well,” Steffin said. “We had lots of cute green and neutral decorations that went well with the venu and made everything look really nice.”
Many people enjoyed prom for many different reasons.
“My favorite part of prom was being able to dress up and look pretty with all of my friends,” 2022 Prom Queen Alana Jones said. “I’ve been looking forward to prom for as long as I can remember.”
Jones was named Prom Queen along with senior Ruben Barajas who was voted Prom King.
“I was so surprised when I won,” Jones said. “I feel so grateful that I had the opportunity to even be on court, much less win prom queen.
The 2022 Prom Queen court included Francesca Giamalva, Alana Jones, Lilliana Garcia, Katrina Caldwell, and Alyssa Delong. The 2022 Prom King court included Aden Jordan, Sam Rankine, Ian Fappas, Eddie Houston, and Ruben Barajas.
Steffin agrees with Jones that prom was a good time simply because it was something that they finally got to experience.
“My favorite part of prom was dancing, I had lots of fun just being together with our class and doing something together,”Steffin said. “We finally got the prom we had all wanted.”
