Wyandotte Baseball having tough season

The boys baseball team has had a rough season plagued with injuries.
The boys started off the season with a tough loss against Stoney Creek only losing 1-0. They went on to lose 5-1 to Campbell County. The Bears went on to lose their next two games against Beechwood and Ryle while playing over spring break.
“I know we definitely had to work on the teamwork aspect a little more,” sophomore, center and left field, Darrel Harper said
The team earned their first win against Blissfield, 8-4. The Bears then lost their next six games, including 3 against league opponents. “It was kinda demoralizing that we were losing these games, but we’re Bears so we’re gonna keep trying,” sophomore, 1st baseman, Emelio Sanchez said.
In late April, the team put together a string of victories over league opponents including a 7-1 win over Taylor, a 5-4 win over Lincoln Park, and a 9-4 win over Carlson.
After losing 8 more in a row, the Bears won both games of a double header against Southgate on May 16 winning 5-2 and 10-8. .
“I think we really needed that win, like bad. It gave us all sort of a boost of energy that we really needed,” sophomore, pitcher and third basemen, Jack Murray said.
The team begins the district tournament this weel.
